Noloco

Overview

Noloco is a no-code platform for building internal tools, client portals and business apps on top of data you already keep. Point it at an Airtable base, a Google Sheet or a database, and Noloco turns those records into a clean, permissioned application that your team and your clients can actually use, without writing code.

Where a spreadsheet is powerful but messy and unsafe to share, Noloco wraps the same data in a proper interface with logins, roles and views. How it works

You connect a data source, most often Airtable, Google Sheets, a SQL database or Noloco's own tables. Noloco reads the structure and lets you build screens on top: lists, detail pages, forms, charts, kanban boards and calendars, all configured visually. You decide how each record looks and what each user can do with it.

The core of Noloco is permissions. You define roles, then control precisely which data each role sees and can edit, which is what makes it safe to invite clients and staff into the same app. You add workflows and automations for actions and notifications, apply your branding, and publish. Cons

Noloco is excellent within its lane and shows its edges outside it. It is built for data driven internal apps and portals, not for consumer facing products or complex custom software, and pushing it toward those hits limits. Performance and cost are tied to your data source: heavy Airtable use, for example, can run into API limits or slow down at scale, and that is partly out of Noloco's hands. You are building on a hosted platform, so you accept its constraints and a degree of lock in, and deep custom logic or unusual layouts can be hard to express. Pricing grows with users and usage, so a widely shared portal costs more, which needs planning. Finally, for anything holding sensitive records, access rules must be set carefully, because a permissions mistake exposes real data. Used for portals and internal tools on existing data, Noloco is a strong, practical choice; stretched into full custom app territory, it is the wrong tool.
