Boud'bOis is an online marketplace for non-standard wood: planks, beams, slabs and offcuts that fall outside industrial standards, many of them one-of-a-kind pieces, sold online and collected directly from partner sawmills and workshops. A great product, a real logistical puzzle, and the perfect playground for a full-stack e-commerce build.

The project: selling non-standard wood online, down to the single piece

Boud'bOis was not designed around “a product with 50 units in stock”. The DNA of the catalogue is the unique piece: a species, dimensions and singularities that make it a one-off, gone as soon as it is bought. The catalogue has since grown to include references with larger stock, but the architecture had to manage inventory down to the single piece, in real time, from day one:

  • Real-time inventory: a unique piece added to a cart must be instantly locked for everyone else
  • Partner-friendly stock management: partners manage their pieces in Airtable, not in yet another tool
  • Click & collect: every order ends with a pickup appointment at a partner location
  • Content autonomy: the showcase site, blog and SEO pages must stay editable in Webflow

The challenge: a real web application, without leaving Webflow

The usual trade-off is painful. Either you go fully custom and the marketing team loses its autonomy, or you stay no-code and give up the product's core requirements (piece-level stock, cart locks, customer accounts, messaging). And when teams split the two worlds across a subdomain (shop.example.com), they split their SEO authority and their user experience with it.

Our goal was clear: keep the showcase site, blog and SEO content in Webflow, and run a complete custom e-commerce application on the same domain.

Our solution: one platform, two sides

The platform we built has two sides. The visible one is the customer experience: the Webflow marketing site and the marketplace, seamlessly merged on a single domain. The invisible one is a complete operations ecosystem for the partner network: partner portal, back-office, automated emails and synced calendars.

Customer side: the Webflow site and the marketplace on one domain

The marketplace is a Next.js (App Router) application deployed on Webflow Cloud, mounted directly on boudbois.fr/marketplace. The Webflow site carries the brand, the blog and the SEO pages; the application handles catalogue, cart, checkout and customer accounts. Same domain, same design language (the app reuses Webflow-designed components through DevLink), and a single, consolidated SEO authority.

A real-time backend for piece-level inventory

Behind the scenes, Supabase powers the marketplace: a Postgres database with Row Level Security on every table, serverless Edge Functions and realtime channels. When a customer adds a one-of-a-kind piece to their cart, it is locked in real time for every other visitor: no double sales, ever. Customers get secure accounts, order history and even a realtime messaging channel with the seller of their pieces.

Operations side: a full ecosystem to run the partner network

Around the marketplace, we shipped two more applications, deployed on Cloudflare Workers: a partner portal (stock management, pickups dashboard, calendar connections) and a complete back-office to administer everything: orders, customers, partners, analytics, review moderation and messaging. Webflow embeds (live cart icon, product iframes, opening hours) keep the marketing site and the application perfectly in sync.

Airtable synchronization: partners keep their own tools

The wood partners manage their inventory where they always have: in Airtable. A bidirectional, webhook-driven synchronization pushes every new piece to the marketplace within seconds, and sends orders and stock changes back. No new back-office to learn, no double data entry.

Automated emails and scheduling: Brevo and calendars

Checkout ends with a pickup slot picker based on each partner's real opening hours. The confirmed pickup is written directly into the partner's Google or Microsoft calendar via OAuth, and the whole email lifecycle (order confirmations, pickup reminders, review requests, back-in-stock alerts) is orchestrated with Brevo.

The results: a full e-commerce platform on Webflow Cloud

  • A live marketplace on boudbois.fr/marketplace, from catalogue browsing to pickup appointment
  • One domain, one SEO authority, with programmatic SEO pages generated from the catalogue data: organic traffic tripled in two months
  • Piece-level inventory in real time: unique pieces locked the moment they enter a cart
  • Mobile loading speed doubled after a dedicated performance sprint (server-first rendering, deferred hydration, image optimization)
  • A fully automated order flow: from an Airtable record to a calendar event and a Brevo email, without a single manual step

Boud'bOis proves the point of Webflow Cloud: you no longer have to choose between a no-code marketing site and a full-stack product. You can have both, on one domain.

FAQ

Is everything clear?

It depends on the package you choose. Launch is delivered in 2 weeks, Business and Expand in 4 weeks. These timelines assume you provide your content (copy, images, logos) and feedback within reasonable timeframes. We confirm the exact delivery date during the kickoff meeting based on your specific needs.
Your project is handled by our in-house team based between Paris and Barcelona. Maxime manages strategy, consulting and project management. Roland handles Webflow development and technical SEO. A dedicated designer joins depending on the project. We never outsource abroad: everything is done in-house to ensure quality and responsiveness. You have a direct point of contact throughout the project.
Yes. All our packages include 30 to 60 days of post-launch support, depending on the package. After that, you have three options: manage updates yourself (we train you to be fully autonomous), subscribe to our Growth package for continuous support with monthly iterations starting at €2,900/month, or request ad-hoc interventions billed per day. We don't disappear after delivery, we remain available whenever you need us.
We build exclusively on Webflow and Framer to create dynamic, customizable and high-performing websites. These two no-code platforms allow us to deliver robust and scalable solutions quickly, adapted to a wide range of needs. Webflow is recommended for sites with rich CMS and demanding SEO; Framer for more marketing-focused sites, design-driven with advanced animations. We advise honestly based on your project during the kickoff.

A CMS (Content Management System) is a tool that lets you easily manage your website content without touching any code. With Webflow, you can add blog posts, edit text, upload images, all from a simple interface. It's a dashboard that makes you 100% autonomous to manage your site after delivery.
On-page SEO refers to the technical optimization of your site for search engines. This includes title tags, meta descriptions, heading structure (H1, H2, H3), clean URLs, loading speed, schema.org markup, and many other elements. We configure all this from the start so Google properly understands and ranks your pages. You don't have to worry about it afterwards.
Yes. For Launch, payment is split in 2: 50% at project kickoff and 50% on delivery. For Business and Expand, payment is split in 3: a first part at kickoff, a second part at an intermediate milestone defined upfront (often mid-project, when mockups are validated), and the final part on delivery. For the Growth package, billing is monthly, in a single payment per month.
No, there's no limit. During the design validation phase, we iterate as many times as needed until the mockups perfectly match your needs. What matters to us is that you're fully satisfied before moving to development. This phase is collaborative, and communication is essential.
No long-term commitment. The Growth package works month-to-month, cancellable anytime with one month's notice. This notice period is bilateral: we can also end the collaboration if the project no longer matches our standards or values. This flexibility guarantees a healthy and productive relationship on both sides.
We have five key differences. First, radical transparency: fixed displayed prices, no opaque quotes. What we announce is what you pay. Second, zero offshoring: everything happens between Paris and Barcelona, in-house, with no hidden subcontracting. Third, your site truly belongs to you: clean code with Client First methodology, you can switch providers without rebuilding everything. Fourth, our bb-contents tools are included free with all packages (15+ professional web tools). Fifth, fast delivery: 2 to 4 weeks where others take 2 to 3 months. In short: we build websites that drive business performance, not dormant storefronts.

We're a good fit if you want a high-performing site, not just a pretty one, if you value transparency (fixed displayed prices, no unclear quotes), if you want to keep control of your site after delivery, if you're looking for a partner who understands your business challenges, and if you appreciate short timelines (2 to 4 weeks) with a clear process. We're not a good fit if you're looking for the cheapest option on the market or if you want to stay dependent on an agency long-term. The best way to find out? A 30-minute call: we'll honestly tell you if we can help.
Yes. The standard Growth package is €2,900/month for 4 dedicated days per month, but we can adapt it to your needs. Fewer days per month means a lower price. We define the scope together during the initial call. In all cases, billing is done in a single monthly payment, with no commitment.
