What low-code is
Low-code is an approach to building applications and websites that relies mainly on visual, drag-and-drop tools and prebuilt components, while still allowing custom code where it is needed. It speeds up development by handling the repetitive plumbing visually, letting builders assemble most of an app from configurable blocks and drop down to code only for the specific logic or integrations that require it. It sits on a spectrum between no-code, which avoids code entirely, and traditional development, which writes everything by hand.
How it works
Low-code platforms provide a visual builder for interfaces, ready-made components, connectors to databases and services, and built-in handling of common concerns like hosting and authentication. Instead of writing every layout, query and integration from scratch, you configure them visually.
